How it works

A doctor, a plan, and numbers you can read.

Ninety days. Measure, coach, report. Built around four kinds of energy: physical, emotional, mental and purpose.

Measure. Coach. Report.

  1. 1

    Measure

Volunteers share how they sit, sleep and feel, with a simple check-in and a wearable. We measure at the start and again at day 90.

  2. 2

    Coach

A physician reviews each person’s results and leads a weekly check-in. Coaching covers movement, sleep and food, in plain language.

  3. 3

    Report

You get group results only, and only for groups of ten or more. Each person’s own results stay with them and the clinic.

Unlike a gym perk or a wellness app, EPX3 puts a physician in the loop, and reports what changed, not just who signed up.

The 90-Day Program

This Ends Boring Wellness Programs

Our mission: help people who sit all day perform like company athletes. We work on four kinds of energy: physical, mental, emotional and spiritual (purpose and meaning). Over 90 days, everyone follows the same four steps, led by a physician.

1. Clinical baseline

We start with a health history and a few questions. If a person agrees, we add lab tests. If someone needs an X-ray or scan, we send them to an outside imaging center.

2. A doctor checks in every week

Each week we see how it is going, change the plan, and keep people on track.

3. One-on-one coaching and nutrition

Every person gets their own coach for desk setup and recovery, simple food advice, and managing mental energy.

4. Clear numbers for HR

HR sees group results only, and only for groups of ten or more. They show changes in energy, aches and pains, and engagement. Each person's health information stays private with them and the clinic.

The EPX3 Company Protocol

Four energies. One company that trains like an athlete.

Desk work drains our energy and leaves little room for purpose. EPX3 builds four kinds of energy, one on top of the other: a body that lasts the whole day, a calm mind that recovers from stress, clear thinking, and a spiritual center, whatever that means to each person, that gives them a reason to show up.

Layers 1 and 2

EPX3 Health Division

Doctor-led coaching for movement, sleep and stress. Short Bio-Sprints (quick movement and rest breaks) and healthy habits that prevent problems.

The EPX3 Company Protocol pyramid A four-level pyramid. From the base up: 1 Physical capacity (movement, sleep, less sitting), 2 Emotional resilience (stress recovery), 3 Mental clarity and AI business velocity, 4 Spiritual (purpose, meaning and values). 4. SPIRITUAL purpose & meaning 3. MENTAL CLARITY & AI BUSINESS VELOCITY Think clearly. Put AI to work. 2. EMOTIONAL RESILIENCE Stress recovery. Steadier days. 1. PHYSICAL CAPACITY Movement. Sleep. Layers 3 and 4

EPX3 Business Division

How to think, how to use AI, and how to grow. Clear-headed people with purpose build better companies. Taught through thecgi.org and the G.A.I.N.S. AI certification.

How the layers connect

Each layer holds up the one above it. A rested body that moves leads to a steadier mood. A steadier mood leads to better focus. Better focus helps people do what matters to them. And purpose keeps them going when the week gets hard. This is our working idea, which is why we never treat the four as separate programs.

What people do, and what we measure

One simple daily habit for each layer. We teach it in the weekly sessions and track it in the portal. Employers see group results only.

Layer 1 · Physical

The Three Daily Doses

A short walk about once an hour, steady sleep times, and regular food and water. Small and easy to repeat.

We measure: breaks per day, hours and quality of sleep, and a daily energy rating.
Layer 2 · Emotional

The Two-Minute Recovery

A short breathing pause between meetings and at the end of the day, so stress doesn't pile up.

We measure: a daily stress rating, pauses taken, and a well-being score at the start and at day 90.
Layer 3 · Mental

The Top Three and the Weekly AI Win

Pick your top three tasks before you open email. Protect one block of time with no distractions. Use one AI shortcut each week on a real task.

We measure: top-three tasks done, a focus rating, and AI wins logged.
Layer 4 · Spiritual

The Why Check

A two-minute pause each day to ask what mattered today and who your work is for. Quiet time for meditation, prayer or reflection is optional.

We measure: one daily question about purpose, plus minutes of optional quiet time. Both are private and reported by you.
Spiritual practice is always optional. Meditation, prayer, silence, gratitude or reflection, from any tradition or none. No one has to take part. No one is asked about their faith. Employers never see who takes part. Anyone who prefers a non-religious option gets an equal one.

Where the business case comes from

EPX3 does not promise a return on your money. We measure your own numbers before and after, and show you what changed. Here is what the research does and does not show.

What the research shows

A review of 23 randomized trials of workplace mindfulness found less stress and worry, better well-being, and a little better sleep. A review of 44 studies found that meaningful work goes with more engagement, more commitment, more job satisfaction, and less wish to leave.

Bartlett et al., 2019, Journal of Occupational Health Psychology. Allan et al., 2019, Journal of Management Studies.

What it does not show

Experts disagree on whether wellness programs save money. An early review reported about $3.27 in lower medical costs and $2.73 in lower absence costs for every $1 spent. A later 18-month trial at BJ's Wholesale Clubs found people exercised more and managed their weight better, but found no real change in health measures, health spending, missed work or job performance. The mindfulness review could not say anything about burnout or work performance. The meaningful-work studies show a link, not a cause.

Baicker, Cutler and Song, 2010, Health Affairs. Song and Baicker, 2019, JAMA.

How EPX3 handles that

Before day one, we pick three numbers with your HR team, such as missed days, people who quit, and an engagement score. We measure them again at day 90. You see group results only, for groups of ten or more, even the ones that did not improve. We share what we find, including the limits.

After day 90: the next step

Everyone who finishes the 90 days is offered the G.A.I.N.S. AI certification, so their new energy turns into skills their company can use. Pricing is set with each company.

The four energies (physical, emotional, mental, spiritual) draw on the corporate-athlete idea by Loehr and Schwartz (Harvard Business Review, 2001; The Power of Full Engagement, 2003). EPX3 is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or licensed from Johnson & Johnson or its Human Performance Institute. EPX3 is an educational wellness program. It does not diagnose or treat any condition. Taking part is voluntary.

The Four Energies

Four kinds of energy. One performance.

Company athletes do well because they manage their energy, not just their time. We measure the small, steady deposits a company makes in each kind of energy.

Physical

The desk setup, how people move, sleep and recovery, and the break that really happens.

Mental

Focus, clear thinking, and being able to switch work off. Better habits help, and leaders learn to put AI to work.

Emotional

A person who sees the company investing in them shows up differently: more engaged, less run down.

Spiritual

Purpose and meaning: knowing why the work matters and who it is for.
